Winter Wonderland Voted Visit London’s Consumer Event Of The Year

Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland was crowned Consumer Event of The Year at last night’s (8 Dec 2010) Visit London awards. The Royal Parks, along with event organisers AEG and PWR accepted the award at a glittering ceremony at one of London's newest event spaces, the Bloomsbury Big Top. London’s largest and most dazzling winter event is currently celebrating its fourth year having attracted well over four million visitors.

Sarah Greene, from AEG Live commented;
"It's fantastic to receive this award and achieve recognition for Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, as each year the AEG and PWR team make enormous efforts to improve the event. We are at the halfway point of this year’s Winter Wonderland so it gives us all a huge boost!"

Free Cooking Show with Lobster, Lidl, and Celebrity Chefs

Join Lidl celebrity chefs Nick Nairn and Lesley Waters on the 1st December at The Lidl Magical Rink for a live Christmas feast cooking demonstration using Lidl’s range of affordable luxury products. Nick and Lesley will be preparing Lobster in Vermouth Cream Sauce and a Christmas Trifle with a Lidl festive twist.

For more festive food magic, the Lidl Lobster Bar will be open from 1st December offering delicious lobster soup, a perfect warming treat after the skating rink.

Room On The Broom, for 3 days only!

Preview Night

Thursday 18th November is our Preview Night, in aid of Winter Wonderland’s Official Charity for 2010, The Royal Parks Foundation. Entry includes unlimited rides, circus performances and ice skating – including a special skating show! All are subject to space and the event is open from 5pm to 9pm. Winter Wonderland Returns With Even More Magical Treats!

After a phenomenal 2009 season, which saw a staggering two million visitors, planning for Hyde Park Winter Wonderland 2010, London’s largest and most dazzling winter event is well underway. With no admission fee, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland now offers almost seven whole weeks of festive fun – right in the heart of the Capital!

WINTER WONDERLAND will once again feature London’s biggest outdoor ice-rink, the iconic Giant Observation Wheel and the return of Zippos Circus – all of which are booking now! In addition to this there are new and exciting rollercoaster rides and a Santa Land for kids with free Santa’s grotto.

Some new attractions for 2010:
Angel’s Christmas Market
Located at the Hyde Park entrance to Winter Wonderland, The Market will feature over one hundred wooden chalets - offering unusual and handmade gifts, including ceramics, candles, glasswork, jewellery, clothing and beauty products as well as a traditional Christmas items.

Big Top Shows
Due to phenomenal public demand in 2009, which saw most shows selling out family-favourite, Zippos Circus, will make a welcome return to the Winter Wonderland Big Top with a family festive circus show during the day, featuring Timoni the Elf and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer who will open up a magical toy box to reveal a thrilling line up of colourful circus stars.

In the evening, the Winter Wonderland Big Top will present 'Winter Cirque' a brand new world-class Circus. The finest artistes from across the globe merge into a single breathtaking performance spectacle set inside a sleeping mind. Expect contortionists, aerialists, acrobats, the heart-stopping Wheel of Death and a final battle of fire all part of this stunning visual spectacle.


Schools Join The Rock And Roll Circus At Winter Wonderland

The 02’s British Music Experience (BME) has partnered with Zippos Circus to present the ‘Rock And Roll Circus’, a series of exciting circus based work-shops set within Winter Wonderland - giving schools an exclusive insight into the legendary circus.

Taking place in the heated Big Top at Hyde Park and run by the performers themselves, pupils will be able to experience the inner workings of a circus, as well as enjoying lunch inside the circus café tent before taking their seats to marvel at the 45 minute performance of Zippos Christmas Circus show.


Workshops are taking place between the 23rd of November and the 2nd of December 2010.
